The TV Universe Justice League

The CW has struck gold with "Arrow" and "The Flash", the latter having the highest ratings of any show on the network with its series premier. These 2 shows are the first "Superhero" shows to be in a connected universe, much like other genre shows like "Law and Order", "CSI", and "Chicago Fire" and successfully done. But just having 2 connected shows doesn't seem to be enough for DC, as recent reports have indicated that "Supergirl", which will be on CBS next year, will also potentially be connected to the CW universe.

26 year old actress Claire Holt seems to be the current front-runner to play Kara in "Supergirl", most known for her role in "Vampires Diaries", which I have just heard because I don't watch that show because I'm not a 12 year old girl or have a vampire fetish. While I would prefer a younger actress, specifically Spencer Locke from the "Resident Evil" franchise, as long as it's a good show I guess I really don't care either way.

The premise of the show is that Kara, age 24, has had to reveal her powers during a recent catastrophe and is now accepting her role as a hero after arriving on Earth 12 years ago and hiding her powers the entire time. She is found by the Danvers family and taken in. She also has a 26 year old foster sister who knows about her powers. Honestly, I wish they would stay away from the Danvers name completely, especially since the  "Captain Marvel" movie will be Carol Danvers, but this seems to be set in stone since it was already in a press release.

But wait! There's more! TNT is reportedly developing a series called "Titans" which will centered around Dick Grayson as Nightwing forming a team of his own after he goes solo from Batman. Raven and Starfire are also said to be a part of the cast. I added Kid Flash and Artemis Crock in my picture because ideally, if "The Flash" and "Arrow" become connected to this too then they would be great candidates to round out a 5 person team. Hear me out before jumping to conclusions. TNT says they know drama, so what's more dramatic then having 5 good looking people who kick ass also be attracted to each other? Imagine this. Nightwing likes Raven, Starfire like Nightwing, Raven is emotionless, Kid Flash like Starfire, and ultimately that makes Artemis jealous. Better than a love triangle for sure. But at the end of the day, they still kick ass. Plus if this is a connected universe, Wally can be introduced on "The Flash" but join the Titans and Artemis takes Royston place on the team as the archer because Roy is already established on "Arrow", but he could still do guest appearances.

Some people may ask, "How could 4 shows on 3 networks possibly make a connected universe?" Well, to put it simply, they all already work together as it is. Titans would be on TNT, which is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System, which is a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Supergirl will be on CBS. Both Warner Bros and CBS co-own the CW which has "Arrow" and "The Flash". While all 3 networks have their own board of directors, they can still work together, especially of they can just use cameo and guest appearances sparingly and reference the other show's characters more.

Connecting all 3 networks would also give them a pretty solid Justice League with Supergirl and Nightwing, who was trained by Batman. Otherwise if they are not used, you have The Flash, Arrow, and a bunch of seemingly secondary members in Black Canary, The Atom, Firestorm, Wildcat, and maybe Vibe and Katana. And I'm sorry, but that's not a very good League. That League looks like the version that either Doomsday or even Deathstroke has beaten single-handedly.

Now will this actually happen? Who knows. It's just a possibility. "Titans" has 2 other options. One is being connected to the DC Cinematic Universe since cable shows can get away with more controversial content than regular network TV. This however is not really a likely scenario, even though they could use this to explain why Batman in "Dawn of Justice" is supposedly on the outs with Nightwing. In doing this though, the Kid Flash scenario would also not happen and would most likely not be on the show at all since we don't even have a debuted movie Flash appearance yet. The third option is that it's completely separate from all other shows and in its own universe. This is a viable option, as well as connecting to the CW shows if if the details can be worked out.

Which option would you like to see done for "Titans"? Is the CW universe a good option to connect Supergirl and Titans together?
